Less is More #146 Use Designer paper in a CAS way!

Well this is a good chance to use some of the huge stash of designer paper I thought but of course doing it in a CAS way means not using very much of it! Now originally this card was going to have a red bow that I had cut on my Craft Robo. I had been trying some things out on it as I really ought to use it more than I do!

So I was all ready to put it together when I decided it should maybe have a bit of sparkle, after all it is Christmas, and smooched it with my Vanilla Smooch spritzer. Bad mistake as although it was nice and shimmery it made the red look pink so it didn't match the stamping or red mat.  No problem I'll just cut another I thought but the last red scrap of my paper was just not wide enough!  I didn't have any more of the red (which was the same pattern as the green I've used) so had to cut into a complete sheet of the green, and then find something to match for the mat. After all that I actually like this better with the green and red rather than all red.

Card recipe:

Card blank (non SU)
Designer paper retired
Stamp Set: Merry Little Christmas
Ink: Real Red

Freshly Made Sketches and Have a Merry Little Christmas

I loved the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  Definitely a "go to" design. And here's the card I made.

I used Coastal Cabana cardstock with paper from the Winter Frost stack, The band was embossed with the Pretty Print embossing folder.  I coloured the Merry Little Christmas stamp with the  silver encore inkpad and Cherry Cobbler marker pen, added a Cherry Cobbler mat and the two little flags were cut from scraps of Cherry Cobbler and Brushed Silver card using the  Bitty Banners framelits.

Then I made some more !

For this one I used the silver ribbon from the seasonal catalogue with some retired pool party ribbon.

And for this one I used Cherry Cobbler ribbon, the Season of Style  stack and gold encore ink

Less is More - Felt or Fabric

When I saw the theme from the Less is More ladies my first thought was to sit this one out! But kept thinking about it and then I remembered that I'd got a pack of calico that came free on a magazine a few months ago. So I had a rummage around the craft room and eventually found it. Then I had to decide what to do with it. I had an order delivered yesterday so the goodies were still on the desk and the stamp set on the top of the pile looked perfect. It's not often I ink up a new stamp quite so quickly! And this is the result.

The card is actually brown - not sure whether it's chocolate chip or early espresso as it was in my snippets box even though it was quite a large snippet! (Sorry about the shadows in the photo - took it late in the afternoon) The ink and little scallop trim is Cherry Cobbler. The pennant was cut with a Sizzix die (not SU).
