Sail Away Three

Hello all - hope you're having a great weekend. Here is the last one in the trio of cards.

Quite a large card this time. The base is Naturals Ivory folded in half to make a A5 card. The yacht is stamped on what I thought was  a piece of crumb cake but I think was a piece if the packing card!! in Soft Suede and the edges torn and inked. I mounted this at an angle onto some First edition DSP. I originally cut this out with the Top Note die embossed with the Stripes embossing folder but it didn't look right, so I tore round the edges, crumpled it up added ink over the creases and edges and it looked much better! The final touch was some linen thread wrapped around the Soft Suede mount and an antique brad for embellishment. I think it's always difficult to add embellishments to men's cards - you can't just put a flower or butterfly on. None of these cards have any sentiments - I'll add them as and when I use them. ( I also pricked round the edges of the soft suede mat and the sentiment will have to go on the corner where I went off the straight!!)

Sail Away Two!

I'm scheduling this post(so hope it works) and tomorrow's as I will be on a train on my way to see my two beautiful grandsons. I can't believe that the youngest has just had his 2nd birthday! Time goes much too fast when they're little.

This one was made on a black DL card, with a small piece of DSP from the Mocha Morning Specialty papers. The yachts were stamped in black and the edges inked with Soft Suede.

Sail Away!

It is ages since I last posted due to computer and internet problems but hopefully I've got them all sorted now! On top of that I've been having a problem with my right arm and couldn't even craft!! "Oh no!!" I hear you all say!! That too seems to have righted itself and at last I have been able to play this week. I have made a trio of cards using the Sail Away stamp - perfect for those difficult- to- make male cards. Here's the first one.

I really like this one. Island Indigo  with a little bit of Basic Gray for contrast. Come back tomorrow to see the next one.
