Sing Happy Birthday

It was my son's partner's birthday last month. I wanted to make her a card that was a bit personal and as she is a singer I thought this stamp set from Visisble Image fitted the bill perfectly.

I found a pretty gelliplate background that I had made some time previously and stamped directly on it. I enhanced the colour on the dress with Copics Some black glitter strips round the edge finished it off. I'm pleased to say she loved it!

Sympathy for Less is More

That is of course a sympathy card for the latest challenge at Less is More. I didn't set out to make a sympathy card, it just sort of evolved.  I decided to use a NBUS stamp from Visible Image and stamped in black and clear embossed it. I had intended adding some colour to the flower and making a birthday card.

However after I had done that I rather liked the look of it as it was and thought it would make a good sympathy card, and as I have sadly had to use a few just recently my supply did need topping up.

Inky background

A couple of weeks ago I decided to have a play with some inky backgrounds using various ink pads including Distress Oxides, and some stencils. It didn't turn out quite as I wanted, in fact I nearly threw it away but instead left it for a couple of days.

I still wasn't happy with it but added some stamping using a Visible Image set - Tomorrow Doesn't Exist, then layered it up using some grey and black mats on a large square white card blank. The finished card definitely looked better. Stamping Sensations want to see Colour on their entries this month and this certainly has some colour.
