Blue Birthday!

Earlier this month it was my youngest son's birthday. How can my baby possibly be 40!! Obviously I had to make a card which marked the occasion, much to his disgust!

After much thought for a suitable theme for him, which resulted in nothing, and hours spent on Pinterest,  I ended up with balloons and blue glitter paper. This week Allsorts challenge has chosen the perfect theme for it.  The balloons and number were all cut from snippets. I don't think I've actually got any complete sheets of glitter paper any more.

Balloons!

This gorgeous paper was in a kit from Simon Says Stamp a long time ago, but it was much too nice to use!

Eventually I decided to use it just as it was but mounted onto some kraft card. The sentiment went on the inside as I didn't want to spoil the paper. I sent it to one of my sons for his birthday. He obviously thinks I'm a much better artist than I really am as he phoned me to ask if I'd painted it!

Balloon birthday

I made this card a little while ago for my grandson's birthday in November. Where did those eleven years go - it seems no time at all since he was a baby.
Lots of snippets used here, not just the balloon papers but also the card for the balloons behind the paper.
It has made a nice change to be blogging something other than a Christmas card!  Im off to join in the fun at the Playground - I believe Parsnip is dishing out mulled wine!
