Pleated skirt fold

I've seen a number of cards on the Internet featuring these folds, with various names. I found a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers and had a go at making one.
I used some scraps of retired SU paper and a butterfly that I had cut out some time ago and not used. The lace tape was also a scrap. In fact apart from the blank, everything was snippets.

Then I made a landscape one which took me a lot longer as I had to work out the measurements and my "maths head" wasn't working well!

Lots of snippets used so I'm off to the Playground to see what all the playmates are up to.

Football birthday.

It's my youngest son's birthday on Friday and he is an enthusiastic football supporter so the choice of a football card was not difficult to make.
I cut the hexagons with the SU hexagon punch and embossed the white ones with a Swiss dots EF. I mounted them onto some "Chelsea" blue card, which I made by colouring white with a blue Copic  to get the right shade. Then I die cut the round shape which was quite difficult as it was quite thick. And of course it flattened the embossing! I edged the sentiment panel with a ruler and the same blue Copic. Lots of snippets used so I'm heading off to the Playground again.

The Last Rudolph day of 2015 and Merry Monday

Amazing - can you believe that it is only one month till Christmas? Are you ready - I'm very definitely not! Anyway here is this month's Rudolph Card for the challenge at ScrappyMo's.

And by a sheer fluke it also fills the bill at Merry Monday where the theme is blue, white and texture. The snow is embossing paste and there is a lot of dimensional snow underneath the houses, although it doesn't show very well in the photo. I hope the pop of red is allowed! Im also popping over to the Snippets Playground to see how the rehearsals are going! I imagine chaos is reigning there as Miss Di is not mobile enough to keep everyone in check.

Lego!!

My grandson will be 6 next month - where does the time go? When he was here just before we went on holiday  he said" Granny can you buy me some Lego for my birthday?" No surprise there!! He's Lego mad!  I had to make him a Lego card as I had done one back in March for his younger brother and didn't want him to feel left out.  So here's the latest version.

Lots of punching and inking! The "6" I  cut on the Cricut three times and stuck them together to raise it up. The bricks were two layers then raised up on dimensionals. I used Real Red inked with Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Yellow inked with Crushed Curry. All snippets! The blue was also a  scrap from my box but is non SU as they don't do a suitable blue but the inking was Midnight Muse.

The inside I created on the computer (including the bricks!) I just hope he likes it, but think he might be more interested in the present! As I used lots of snippets I'm going to take it to Pixie's Snippets Playground and see what the playmates are up to while teacher's away!

Merry Monday and Blog Refresh

Hello all. I have spent the last couple of days giving my blog a small makeover. I've decided to go for a nice clean look! Onto the card and this is my entry to this week's Merry Monday sketch challenge.

I am also on a mission to use up some of my very old stash - bought when I first started making cards. Like a lot of people I bought things that I thought would be useful to build up my supplies and some of it came in very large kits!

This is using up some decoupage and Christmas papers . I've also used a number of snippets for the sentiment and tags, so I'm off to play in the Playgound as well!

Edited: just too late again so will have to take it tomorrow to the palyground!

CAS(E) this Sketch and snippets!

Although I have followed this challenge for some time this is the first time I have joined in. This is the sketch

And this is my take on it.

Everything I  used came from my scraps and snippets box, except for the button. The flower was a sticker left over from a Stampin' Up scrapping set.I had used all the papers but still have some of the borders and stickers left. Then I got a bit carried away using them up and created another

and then two more

Di at Pixies Playground will be proud of me - all those snippets gone!
