Mini Scrapbook

To make this mini scrapbook I used the Merry Moments Simply Scrapping kit from the new Autumn/Winter seasonal catalogue. It is great value for money with plenty of borders, journalling blocks and embellishments in lovely Christmas colours. Perfect for all your Christmas scrapbooking!

New Autumn/Winter Seasonal Catalogue

Well it's the 1st of September - the start of autumn - and time for lots of exciting news from Stampin' Up.

There are lots of changes coming to bring us in line with the US. So instead of a mini catalogue we now have a bigger seasonal catalogue with lots of lovely goodies in it. You can order from it from today. Just click on the picture in the sidebar to browse. Alternatively if you would like your own hard copy just email me.

At the same time the list of items that are being retired from the main catalogue has been released today as well. If there are any stamps or accessories that you really must have let me know within the next couple of days as they are only available while stocks last and I will not be placing any orders after that until the end of the month.

The new Annual catalogue will go live on the 1st October and it promises to be bigger and better than ever. I'll be back tomorrow to show you something made with some of the new product.

Dynamic Duos Black Tie Week

The Dynamic duos challenge this week is to use River Rock and Black with a dessert option of brads. As I needed to make a male card I thought this colour combo would suit nicely. I stamped the football randomly on black card with Versamark and then clear embossed them. I added a strip of black dotty ribbon and the sentiment tag stamped in black on river rock card. Although it doesn't show up very well in the photo this was mounted on a card blank made from river rock to co-ordinate. The final touch was a football stamped in black on white, cut out and mounted with a dimensional.

Stamp sets used: Goal, Happiest Birthday Wishes.

Winner!!

I'm thrilled to have won last month's Little Claire's Designs blog challenge. This is the card I won with. Lovely goodies arrived today - Thank you Little Claire!!

Something Completely Different

Those of you who know me will know that another of my interests is knitting. Something I have done since the age of 11 when I made myself a jumper from a pattern in "Girl" comic. All my needles were stored in a roll made of plastic which over the years disintegrated and I had tried in vain to get another one. Recently I saw some on Ebay but then thought I could have a go at making my own (I sew as well!) using some of the lovely SU fabric. Now although I sew I do like to have a pattern. I found quite a few tutorials on blogs but they all seemed either over complicated or difficult to follow - so spent the weekend making one out of my head. I knew what I wanted it to look like. I also didn't want any bound edges or raw seams, and it needed to be fairly substantial so the needlles wouldn't poke through. A lot of the tutorials had fleece interfacing in. I haven't got any and it would have meant waiting for an internet order to arrive if I used it. So here's my finished roll - double fabric throughout so no raw seams.

I used the very pretty Twitterpated fabric - a complete box- and the stripes were perfect for sewing straight lines to make the pockets!

Dynamic Duos Challenge- Subtle Colours

It is Subtles week at the DynamicDuos challenge and the colours are Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink.

This is what I came up with.

I used a retired SU stamp which I love and added Glossy Accents to their eyes. The pink mount was cut with a Spellbinders die.I am also entering this to the CAS-ual Fridays challenge which is for a square card.

Little Owls!

The challenge at Less is More this week is for a one layer card with the theme of FUR or FEATHERS.  This gave me the ideal opportunity to use a sweet stamp from Little Claire's Designs that hadn't seen an inkpad yet! As it is a one layer card I coloured it with Aquamarkers so there was no bleed though to the inside. But I really do prefer Promarkers and Copics!! I am also entering this into the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays which is for a square card, and Lawnscaping Challenge which is also for a one layer card.

Simply Stampin' Colour Challenge

The Simply Stampin' challenge this week is a colour challenge to use these colours:

I decided to use the Reason to Smile stamp set again. I can see this is going to become a favourite! I stamped the flowers in Basic Grey then stamped the centre in Daffodil Delight. The petals I coloured with Stampin' write markers. I scored two lines on the card base with the new Simply Scored and stuck the flower panel between the two lines. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs.

Less is More Challenge - Week 79 - Colour

I have to say I have really struggled with this week's challenge! The colour combo is blue and green and everything I tried ended up in the bin!! I eventually came up with this but don't think it really has enough "white space".The flourish is from SU's Everything Eleanor stamp set and the butterflies are Embosslits also from SU. The blue card is a textured pearlised one that I think originally came from QVC when I first started making cards - a few years ago now!
