MMM - Shimmer
The challenge this fortnight at Make My Monday is to use shimmer, shine, glossy paper etc. In my rather large stash of 6 x 6 papers I found some foiled shiny papers which neede little added to them. I diecut the Happy Birthday in Pink, gold and black, and slightly offset them so they would stand out more against the paper.
The centre is a flower embellishment from my stach simply mounted onto a gold doily. Job done. Don't forget to visit the other team members to see what they have made.

NBUS and Gelli Plate.
Now I have had a Gelli Plate for over two years now and it has never come out of the box it arrived in!Time to try it out. As it ws the first time I'd has a play and I was running out of time I stuck to a simple use of it, one colour and bubble wrap. I really liked the effect and thought it would make a great background for this Penny Black die, another NBUS.

Something beginning with C
Welcome to a new week at Cardz 4 Guyz, and this week Tina has chosen "Something beginning with C". My first thought was "cat" but then decided to go with "car" when I found this stamp.
Again it was a magazine freebie! The papers are old SU. Please don't forget to check out all the inspiration from the other DT members.

Rudolph Day - January
Well it's time to start preparing for Christmas! Yes it's the first Rudolph day of 2017. and Scrappymo had some lovely prizes.
I have used a die that was a freebie on a magazine before hristmas and I just never got round to using it. it also came with the embossing folder to frame it. So a card for Rudolph Day, two NBUS items for Darnell's NBUS challenge and black and gold snippets for Miss Di at the Playground.

A Shaped Card at Cardz 4 Guyz
It's 8.55 on Tuesday morning and I've just realised I haven't written up my post for Cardz 4 Guyz for the new challenge. This week it has been chosen by Cyndi, and she has asked for shaped cards.
I hope that this counts as a shaped card as I really couldn't come up with any other bright ideas. The paper and stamp is from an old SSS KIT.

MMM - Black and White with a Pop of Red
I'm delighted to say that I am back on the DT at Make My Monday after a two year break ,and this is my first card for it.
Amy has chosen the challenge which is Black and White with a Pop of Red.
I just had to use this Inkylicious stamp again, as it just lends itself to black and white. A nice CAS card I think. I used a corner punch to add a bit more interest, and a red Nuvo drop on the butterfly.
Do pop over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the team have done.

CAS Watercolour - Snowflake
I have been meaning to join in with the challenge at CAS Watercolor for ages and was determined to make a card for it this month. After all it didn't look difficult - watercolour and a snowflake.
How wrong was I! I started off doing an emboss resist piece but the embossing didn't work very well on watercolour paper, so it went in the bin. Then I made a Brusho background which was quite nice but I wasn't sure where to go with it. A few days later I remembered this snowflake die which hadn't been used and thought I could put the Brusho background behind it, but a) it was too pale, and b) it was too narrow. So back to the drawing board and I found a piece of vellum, wet it and sprinkled it with brushos, now this looked much better behind the snowflake. I rather like the way the light comes through but I think it will have to have some sort of insert to hide the inside before I can use it next Christmas.

NBUS Challenge
The lovely Darnell is celebrating her 5th blogaversary with a special NBUS challenge. You can read all about it here. She has added an optional twist of a new technique -colouring with pencils on Kraft.
This is also a technique I haven't used before either, so had a go. The stamp is NBUS from Penny Black - Red Blush, the sentiment is from Clearly Besotted and also NBUS. I thought of mounting the panel on red, but preferred it without. I used Spectrum Noir pencils to colour the image. I'm also entering this over at Winter Wonderland where the challenge this week is Sunshine, Flowers, Romance.

Less is More - OLC
It's one layer week over at Less is More with a theme of favourite beverage. I was a bit limited in my choice of stamps for this one, but decided to use the mug from a Simon says Stamp set.
I stamped one mug then masked it off to add a second one, then added the smiley faces. I stamped the steam in Crumb Cake and coloured the coffee the same. I was then going to colour the mugs, butI was finding it difficult to decide what colours to use and actually it grew on me as it was, so I decided to leave well alone and definitely go for "less is more".
