LIM Teal

I know at the start of the year I said I was going to try and enter Less is More, more frequently. At first I did then fell by the wayside again!

This week there is a colour them and the ladies want "Mainly Teal".

I'm not sure whether this is  "cas"  enough, but I'm sure they will let me know if it isn't.

I used lots of bits out of the snippet box for this, in fact everything except the card blank. I think I made the little image when LIM had an ombre challenge a while back, then didn't use it.

Masculine Clean and Simple

The new challenge at Cardz for Guyz this week is Clean and Simple. I used a NBUS SU die and cut it out in red and black, then inlaid the pieces.

The sentiment stamp is a wood mounted onethat has been in my stash for quite a long time, possibly Hobbyart. Don't forget to check what the rest of the team have made.
I'm also joining in at Cards in Envy - another new to me challenge.

Colours of the Rainbow

The new challenge at Make My Monday is Colours of the Rainbow.  I decided to make a simple card and used a sentiment stamp, I think from Clearly Besotted.

The hardest part was making sure that I got them all straight and not veering off to one side as I went down the page! I look forward to seeing what you make and there's lot more inspiration from my teamies on the challenge blog.

Hydrangea

I coloured this image a little while ago with SU's new watercolour pencils, then it spent a while on my desk!  Eventually I fussy cut it out and mounted it on a scrap of yellow card. I cut the plaid paper with a stitched square die but the stitching doesn't really show up in the photo.

I am entering this into a new to me challenge The Flower Challenge and as the yellow came out of the snippets box  a visit to the Playground is called for.

Rudolph Day - February glowing candles

Oh my gosh I'm really cutting it fine this month with my Rudolph Day card. The card has actually been made for ages but finding time to blog this last week has been difficult.

The die is Memory Box Glowing Candles cut from red Mirri card and mounted on a white shaped panel. I ran a Versamark pad round the edges and embossed them with sparkly red embossing powder.  The whole image was then added to a piece of stripey vellum which I stuck down under the image, and small amounts of adhesive under the red stripes at the corners.

Tag it at Cardz 4 Guyz

Welcome to a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz where Amy has chosen  Tag It! I have to admit to not using tags very much. So eventually I decided to add the tag to a card.

I cut out a tag from a die set that came with a magazine and cut off the fancy edge so that it just left a stitched edge, then inked it with some light brown ink. (I think I used crumb cake but can't remember!) I added a paper pieced die cut coffee cup and some coffee bean stickers.  I mounted the tag onto a card blank covered with coffee bean paper. Apart from the tag die all the other elements came from the February Simon Says Stamp kit.

Cardz 4 Guyz Underwater

Welcome to a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz. This week the challenge is "Underwater" chosen by Jane.

I decided to put my little Lawn Fawn fishes in a porthole. I love the sentiment that came in the set too. I fussy cut an extra fish to cover a smudge of ink.

Do go and check out my teamies makes on the challenge blog.

MMM - Birds

Oops! I thought I had scheduled this post to go live this morning but obviously not, and I didn't check yesterday as I usually would. I had rather a lot of family problems on my mind.

Anyway back to the card. Joan has chosen birds as the theme for the new challenge at Make My Monday.

I decided to use the SU set "Hey Chick" as it was waiting to see ink! I coloured the chicks with Spectrum Noir pencils after Stampin on Kraft card.

Do check out the other inspiration on the challenge blog.

CAS Watercolour Love

More watercolouring! This time I stamped the Kanban rose in pink and green then used a water brush and inks to add shading to the Rose. When I'd finished I added a very dilute blue and green to the background.

I had actually made this card prior to me previous post, but when I saw this month's challenge at CAS Watercolour  I added the sentiment so that it fits in with the theme.

Watercolour for Cardz 4 Guyz! C4 Guyz

This week the challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is "No Patterned Papers" . I was going to go down the CAS route, but changed my mind when I was looking through my box of NBUS stamps for Darnell's recent challenge as I found this unused stamp by Michael Powell.  I bought it and another one at The Make It Show a few years ago, then wasn't sure what to do with them. Recently though I have been watching video tutorials on watercolouring and decided to have a go.

I used Distress markers and followed the colouring on the back of the stamp fairly closely. I have to say I was really pleased with my first attempt.
