April Rudolph Day

I thought I hadn't managed to join in with last month's Rudolph Day (but I had ) so I compensated by making two this month! The first one was really really easy! I had kept a triangular shaped card we received at Christmas and used it as a template. I've got some Kanban card from a Christmas kit bought a long time ago from QVC and thought this might be a good way of using it up. It is just a triangle shape and two score lines with the bottom shaped so it stands. I stamped a greeting and embossed it in gold onto a snippet of green card and added it to the front.

My second card is also using up some old stash. This time it is from a Papermania pad that I thnk was in a goody bag. The paper is actually a pale blue but it was a bit gloomy when I took the photo and the flash has washed out the colour. I added some stickles to his hat and the ribbon is from my stash as well.

I'm going to pop over to the Playground as well as it's a while since I've been there.
Edited to add: Thanks for the hint Carol I'm also entering this at Winter Wonderland.

The Great Outdoors

Hello there, this week the challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is The Great Outdoors chosen by Julie. After much thought and inspection of my stamps I decided to use Craft Artist to make my card. I created a scene using a Daisy Trail digi kit then printed out some separate elements.

I fussy cut the separate elements out and decoupaged them, then mounted the whole thing onto a dark brown mat and a white 7 x 7 card blank.

I do hope you cna join us this week and don't forget to check out my teammates designs as werell.

70th birthday

It was Roy's 70th at the beginning of the month and this is the card I made him instead of this one. The digi image was another from Dr Digi, coloured with copics in what I hope were the Welsh Rugby team's colours. I even added a very small splodge of white to represent the Prince of Wales Feathers.

I cut the numbers out with SU dies and added 3 thicknesses of card to make it stand out.  He seemed to like it!!

Shades of Brown

It's time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week we are looking for Shades of Brown. I was originally going to use this image from Dr Digi for Roy's birthday  as  part of his therapy is to do some exercises every morning using a weight. But I went down a different route for that!  However I thought it really lent itself to this challenge.

I coloured him with copics and fussy cut him out. The background papers are out of my stash and the sentiment is from Penny Black. Do try and join in the challenge but remember your makes must be for a male.

Embossed Birthday

I hope you have all had a good Easter weekend, but it's not over yet we still have today to enjoy!  It's time for a new challenge at Make My Monday and Silvi has chosen Embossing, hot or dry!

When Uniko released this stamp I had to have it as I thought it would be great for all sorts of birthdays, especially male ones, and I though it was perfect for this challenge. I stamped it in black and clear embossed it, then added some colour with Copics. I double mounted it onto black and red card before adding it to a white card blank.

I do hope you'll try and join in and if you need more inspiration head on over to the challenge blog where the rest of the DT have some lovely creations for you.

Quirky mid month

It's time for the mid month inspiration at Quirky Crafts.  Our sponsors are The Cutting Cafe who provided us with some lovely images to work with.

For the mid month inspiration I used the snail, coloured with Promarkers. I doodled in the frame to add a bit of extra interest. The background paper was plain so I added some stamped hearts from the Stampin' Up Confetti stamp. It still needed something extra so I added a strip of washi tape
underneath the image.

Animal Antics @ Cardz 4 Guyz

Hello there, it's Tuesday and time for a new challenge over at Cardz 4 Guyz. The theme this week is Animal Antics chosen by Sian.

I have quite a few animal stamps but thought it would make a change to use something from a CD and the idea of a dog baking appealed to me. I mounted it onto some dark blue card, then instead of a yellow mat I put it at an angle underneath. The matching backing paper was also off the CD, which is a Joanna Sheen one - Pamela West.

Why don't you join us over at the challenge, just remember your card must be for a guy, young or old!

Easter Cards

It's a beautiful sunny day here today, and warm as well! Just right for some Easter cards. I don't make them as a rule but I've made some to send to my grandsons with some money to buy their Easter present. Chocolate eggs are just too difficult to post, and they get so many anyway that I thought they might prefer to buy themselves something.

I made these from last months Simon Says Stamp kit - I think the egg shaped bunny is so cute. I'm afraid I didn't have an original idea in my head at the time so they are cased from the idea sheet they put in the kit.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and I'll be back on Tuesday with a new card for Cardz 4 Guyz.

So Many Pubs

It is my youngest's birthday on Saturday and I was running out of ideas for his card. In the past I've made  various football cards for him but I thought it was time to do something different, but nothing came to mind.  In fact I was going to buy him a funny card, but then I decided to have a play with Craft Artist which I haven't used in a long time.

And this is what I ended up with.  A one layer card with a sentiment I hope he agrees with!

I am joining in the following challenges:
The Paper Shelter - Make It Digital
Crafting by Designs - Anything goes

Easter at Cardz 4 Guyz

The challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz this week is Easter or Spring. I recently bought the Presscut die to make this Z fold card and wanted to try it out. So I have made an Easter card for a young guy!

I used papers and stamps from Simon Says Stamp that were part of a kit last year. the die certainly made cutting all the pieces a lot easier!  I hope you can join us this week and look forward to seeing what you make.
