Happy Birthday Ardyth!

Tday is Ardyth's birthday. I first came across her blog from doing some challenge cards and she was hosting a blog aniversary party for Darnell. Today She is doing something similar for Ardyth. As the saying goes" what goes around, comes around!" So here is my birthday card for Ardyth, who is a big fan of CAS and loves rainbow colours.

I'm not sure why it looks narrower at the bottom than at the top - I can assure you it is a square! Ihave used the "Oh,Hello" stamp set again. I didn't buy this one at first as I wan't sure I liked it but since I took the plunge I've used it a lot! The sentiment is from Petite Pairs.  I was in two minds about adding it as I was sure I'd end up messing it up!  The card will also fit in with One Layer Wdnesday as Ardyth is hosting a birthday challenge there! (Haven't been able to link there as Linky tool gone missing!)

Marker colours used: Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie,
                                       Gumball Green

Holiday Ornament

One of the lovely new Christmas sets in the Autumn/Winter catalogue is the Ornament Keepsakes set which has matching framelits to make the cutting out so easy! Here I have stamped it in the lovely new raspberry ripple ink. It is mounted on a piece of gumball green card (another new colour) which I have torn round the edges, layered onto raspberry ripple card and onto a piece of DSP from the Merry Moments Simply Scrappin' kit, and all mounted onto white. The whole thing finished with a bow made from the new gumball green stitched satin ribbon. The sentiment (which looks crooked in the photo) is from Petite Pairs.

Simply Stampin' Colour Challenge

The Simply Stampin' challenge this week is a colour challenge to use these colours:

I decided to use the Reason to Smile stamp set again. I can see this is going to become a favourite! I stamped the flowers in Basic Grey then stamped the centre in Daffodil Delight. The petals I coloured with Stampin' write markers. I scored two lines on the card base with the new Simply Scored and stuck the flower panel between the two lines. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs.

Inspiration from Sue Wilson

Sue Wilson showed a card on her show on TV last week that I really liked so I decided to make something similar but using SU products. This is what I came up with. The only thing that is not SU is the ribbon which came from my stash and I think was originally on a box of chocolates! The base card is Naturals Ivory, I cut two borders using the lace ribbon border punch and stuck them on the back of a piece of Mocha Morning DSP. The flowers were made with the Blossom punch and cut out of First edition DSP. They were inked with crumb cake and scrunched and tweaked till I was happy with them. They are held together with antique brads. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs and stamped onto naturals ivory card cut with the decorative label punch, then mounted on black cut withe the framelits. The bow is finished off with a button from the neutrals collection with a piece of bakers twine threaded through it. It was white but I inked it with crumb cake to match the rest of the card.
