Rudolph Day March 2025

I'm still working through my stash but it does seem to be bottomless! For this card I used an A5 card blank, not a size I use very often.

The paper is a magazine freebie from a few years ago. While I was looking through one of my boxes I found some sticker sheets from an old Simon Says monthly kit. A few of those added and a red mat and hey presto another card made.

Big Birthday Wishes

I've got two male birthdays in April so I made two cards using the same die. The first one used the letters cut from a snippet of red cardstock. Sorry - I forgot to photo the snippets as I wasn't sure what I was going to make. The cards sort of evolved as I went along! I mounted them onto a piece of 6 x 6 paper, the dots were very usful for lining up the letters! It looked a bit plain so I printed off some embellishments from Craft Artist and cut them out.

The second card used the negative of the die cut. Again mounted onto some 6x6 paper. I had to cut the A out twice as I lost the tiny middle.

Challenges:

Snippets Playground- 2 red card snippets, onr for the die and one for the mat.

Darts for Grandson

Apparently my youngest grandson has found a new interest - darts! His birthday list consisted of all dart related items. So of course that became my theme for his card.  I used an aperture card from my stash and printed off a piece od paper that vaguely looked like a dart board. The image is from Dr Digi and was coloured with Copics then fussy cut.

The dartboard stamp is from a magazine freebie. It hasn't stamped terrible well on the linen card, but I'm sure there will be no objections especially as there's a cheque inside!

Challenges:
NBUS - dartboard stamp and digital stamp.

Back for Rudolph Day

I thought Rudolph Day was maybe a good time to return to blogging.
As some of you already know my beloved Roy died unexpectedly just before Christmas. I say unexpectedl, as although he had been unwell for a couple of months there had been no indication that I would lose him and in fact he died of sepsis. The last few months have been difficult but I'm very slowly adjusting, so think it's time to start taking up some of my hobbies again, which have all been on hold for six months.

I haven't actually started crafting again yet but I do have some cards saved in drafts that I made last year. So here is my offering for this month's Rudolph Day.

This was a very old Kanban topper mounted onto a piece of 6x6 paper from my stash and finished with a bit of ribbon from Stampin Up.

Taking a break

Those of you who follow my blog will have noticed the lack of posts. Roy, once again deteriorated and had another stay in hospital, this time with sepsis. He’s home now  but not at all well. I’m just waiting for an emergency care package to be put in place, which the hospital should have done . Meanwhile absolutely no time to craft. In fact I haven’t even written the cards that were already made.

Hopefully I’ll be back sometime next year.

Merry Christmas to you all.

Rudolph Day October

I've just noticed that I published last month's Rudolph Day card as October when it should have been September -  now corrected!

Roy's troubles certainly weren't over last month as he then went on to have 12 days in hospital -  his difficulty walking was apparently caused by cellulitis, but also had to have more blood transfusions as the anaemia kept returning. We're waiting now for the results of another test but at least he's home and enjoying the stair lift!

So as you can guess I have done very little crafting, fortunately I still had these two cards made in advance. Wonder if I was being psychic?

Another two cards made using up some old decoupage. I've mounted them onto an embossed background which has removed the need for a sentiment.

Rudolph Day September

A really quick post from me this month for Rudolph Day.I completely missed last month. Life got really hectic then and hasn't stopped yet. Roy had to have emergency blood and iron transfusions plus lots of investigations to find out why he was so anaemic, then was diagnosed with heart failure because of the anaemia. I've lost count of the number of visits to the hospital and he's not out of the woods yet. He's having difficulty walking anywhere and needs a lot of help, so crfting time is non existent.

Fortunately I had got  ahead of myself so had a card ready for this month, Nothing very difficult just a large and old Kanban topper.

Sing Happy Birthday

It was my son's partner's birthday last month. I wanted to make her a card that was a bit personal and as she is a singer I thought this stamp set from Visisble Image fitted the bill perfectly.

I found a pretty gelliplate background that I had made some time previously and stamped directly on it. I enhanced the colour on the dress with Copics Some black glitter strips round the edge finished it off. I'm pleased to say she loved it!

Rudolph Day July

I'm still on my "use up old stuff" mission. This month I've used up some very old decoupage. I'm not sure where it came from, but probably Create and Craft.

I mounted it onto an embossed panel and then onto red cardstock. As the embossing said Merry Christmas there was no need to find a sentiment.

More Lights

I was quite pleased with the card I made for Rudolph Day in my last post, so while I had the dies out I made another. This time with scraps of glitter paper.

I definitely think this one is more Christmassy!
