Make My Monday - Oriental

It's time for a new challenge at Make My Monday and this time the theme is Oriental chosen by me. It seemed ages since I had seen any Oriental themed cards, which at one time were very popular.

I printed out a sheet of mages from a very old Joanna Sheen CD- Oriental Dreams.  I cut out one of the medium sized images and double mounted it on black and gold. The ribbon is another old item, part of a kit from C&C many years ago. I printed the sentiment on the computer using a font called Shanghai, and tried to match the background as closely as possible to the image.

So lets see you dig out some of that old stash and see your Oriental makes!

I'm  also entering it to CD Sunday Challenge.

Springy Card

An oriental themed springy card made for an anniversary. The cardstock was from Kanban and the motif was made from a peel off in silver and then filled in with parts of the same peel off in red and gold.

Sketch Saturday Challenge 7

As I had all my oriental stuff out thought I'd continue with the theme for the Sketch Saturday challenge. This is the result. Unfortunately I have made it opening on the left hand side in true oriental fashion! Might have to mount it on another card before I post it to partner's brother. I don't want to confuse him too much!!

Rainbow Lady Oriental Challenge

This week I have decided to have a go at a different challenge. Rainbow Lady has some super challenges and this week the theme is oriental. Since buying an oriental kit earlier this year I have become quite a fan so this was a perfect opportunity to use some more of it. (And I still have masses left, so will be using this theme for some time to come!)

New Cards

I've spent the afternoon making two cards to catch up with the Monday challenges on Docrafts forum. Well, not strictly true I made one yesterday but was not happy with it so pulled it to pieces and started again. Having a long break hasn't done much for my creativity but it's slowly coming back. I'm going over to Hobbicrafts in Reading tomorrow so maybe that will inspire me and not just my purse! I have just seen that the challenge on Ooh-la-la-Creations is to create a blue card so this one fits the theme for that as well.
