Less is More Number 2!

Well having done one card I'm on a bit of a roll! This time I have used another Kanban stamp set for the first time! And instead  of colouring the dress I paper- pieced it using some SU paper that was sitting on my table.

Less is More Challenge - Week 66 Colour Challenge

I haven't done one of these challenges for ages, or indeed any other challenge!. Every Saturday I look to see what the challenge is with the intention of entering and before I know what's happened it's Friday and I haven't even started. This week I have done better. I did find yellow quite difficult though - not a colour I would normally use as the main colour.

I used a Kanban stamp that had never been inked and the sentiment is from a Creative Expessions set. I must say having got round to inking this stamp I rather like it. Must go and have a look to see what else I've got unused! Quite a lot I think!

80th Birthday Card

A friend living in France is going to be eighty next week. This is the card I have made her.

I embossed the middle white piece of card with a Creative Expressions embossing folder. The two pink edge pieces were made with a Martha Stewart punch, the flowers, pink frame and number panel used spellbinders dies and the ribbon is Stampin' Up.

A Mini Maze Book

I saw one of these demonstrated a couple of weeks ago and decided I would like to have a go - and they are really easy to make out of one sheet of double sided paper. There are lots of demos on how to make them on You Tube and the web.

I intended to showcase some of the products from the new summer mini but I ended up using lots and lots of products from the mini and main catty!! It's also not the easiest thing to photograph to show you .This is the front and the following are some of the inside elements.

The last two pictures show the album opened out . Where there is a square missing is because I stuck two squares together to make the back cover and hold the ribbon in place. Now for the list of items used:

From the Summer Mini

Twitterpated DSP
Simply Scored Scoring Tool
Framelits Dies
Apothecary Art Stamp Set
Mixed Bunch Stamp set
Blossom Punch
From Main IB&C

Beautiful Wings Embosslit Dies
Bird Builder Punch
Itty Bitty shapes punch pack
Decorative label punch
Various circle punches
Pear PizzazStitched polyribbon

I also used the large scallop circle from the Spring mini which is not available now but do hope it makes it into next year's catalogue.

I think I should have called this "see how many different things you can use in one project!" LOL.

Hope you've enjoyed looking and come back again soon!

Lots of Exciting News!!

Gosh there is so much exciting news I need to share with you today and I've been so frustrated as I had no internet all morning!!

First the new summer mini catty is here. This is the first time we have had a summer mini in the UK and everyone is so excited by it and all the lovely new products in it. I think top favourite has to be the new scoreboard - so useful and so easy to use as well.  Then there are the new dies, embossing folders, gorgeous stamp sets and beautiful DSP and fabrics. Well why not go and have a look for yourself. Click on the link in the sidebar or if you would rather have a paper copy to browse through drop me an email and I'll pop one in the post to you.

Secondly to go with the scoreboard SU have brought us a diagonal scoreboard (not in the catty as it has just been brought to us today) so we can make envelopes to match our cards plus all sorts of projects. Have a look at this video:

Thirdly they have reduced the price of the starter kit for new demonstrators!! Now it is only £99 and fully customisable. See HERE for full details. In addition anyone who signs up this month (May) will have their registration fee for convention on Mainz in November for free. You will only have to pay your travel and hotel. How amazing is that?

And now here's something made with new products.

I have used the new Twitterpated DSP , the edge of the card was cut using the new edgelits die, the easel stopper is made from the edgelits die again and embossed with the square lattice embossing folder and topped with the gorgeous new pleated ribbon. the main part of the card has been cut with the brand new framelits and stamped with the co-ordinating Apothecary stamp set. And the card itself was scored with the fantastic new scoreboard.

Don't forget to pop back tomorrow to see what else I've made.

Tatty Teddy

I made this card for my grandson when they thought he had chickenpox - turned out he didn't but he got the card anyway. He does like getting something from the postman!

I used the Docrafts Digital Designer CD  Me to You All Occasions.

Congrats cards

Yesterday I batch made a stack of cards using up some scraps. I belong to a small group of slimmers and when one of us achieves a loss of half a stone we send a card and a few crafting goodies. So yesterday I needed to make some cards for this and decided it was a good way to use up some of my smaller pieces of cardstock. I also had a lot of DL card blanks which I rarely use nowadays (they were bought when I first started making cards) so cutting them in half made the perfect size for what I wanted. The stamp set is Sprinkled Expressions from the SAB promotion - now finished but again just fitted the bill!

The photo could have been better but it was taken with my phone. Don't forget that if you place an order this month for £45 you a lovely pack of DSP free!

Spice Cake Tri-Fold

At the card club meeting I went to last week we were making tri-fold shutter cards. You can get two out of a piece of 12 x 12 card. This was the second one I made. The cardstock was So Saffron and the lovely papers were Spice Cake. The two flowers added were The Triple Treat A La carte stamp using Pool Party and More Mustard inks. The sentiment was from the Oval All set punched out with the scallop oval punch. If you want to see the first one I made look here

Happy Easter

I made this sweet Easter card at card club last week. I love this Everybunny stamp set from SU. The papers I used were from an  old DCWV paper pad that I've had for simply ages but I thought the colours were perfect for an Easter card. You can make two of these cards from a 12 x 12 piece of card. If you want to see the second one I made, have a look here. Also if you too like this stamp set it is available from me on my SU Blog
