Garden Visitors

Well here we are half way through the week and no crafting so far! I had very good intentions to do a few challenges but it hasn't happened and I don't know whether I will get any done.  The visitors to my garden have been occupying my attention in the evenings and at the weekend my son came so he could see them too. What are they? Have a look below. Don't want them to become a permanent fixture under the summerhouse but they are quite cute and very interesting to watch them playing.

This one was taken the first evening I saw them (3 May)  - there were 6 in total!!

This one last Saturday - not very good picture but they don't stay still for long and it was actually getting quite dark.

This one again on Saturday - aren't they cute?

And the last one was taken on Monday.

Pop back tomorrow when I will show something crafty!

Triple Treat version 2!

The challenge at Simply Stampin' is a colour challenge to use these colours.

Once again I'm doing it at the last minute! I don't know where the days go!! Anyway I was so pleased with the last card that I decided to make it again in these colours.

 Wonder which you prefer?

Just in Time - I hope!!

Just in time I hope for the Dynamic Duo's challenge!  Although the challenge is posted on a Saturday  it closes on a Thursday and then there's the time difference to work out!!! This week the colours to use were Pool Party and So Saffron. I have used So Saffron cardstock for the base card and Attic Boutique DSP and have now just noticed that they actually cooerdinate with Daffodil Yellow- Ooops! The Triple Treat flower was stamped out 3 times in Pool party and So Saffron inks then cut out and layered up.Very simple but I'm quite pleased with the result.

Lazy days

Hereis another card I made for the monthly challenge at Little Claire's.

This time I used the Little Claire Designs Lazy Days stamp (I think that is what it is called) , coloured with Promarkers . I stamped it on a circle cut with nesties and mounted it onto a scalloped circle of mauve pearlescent card. The paper is some that I've had since I first started cardmaking and it is from a Hot Off The Press paper pad. Some matching card candy  finished it off.

Framelits Shaped Card

Hello there - it's a beautiful sunny day today - at last! Here is a card I made to demonstrate the new hostess set, Pedal Presents, from the summer mini.

I decided that this stamp set would look nice on a shaped card using the framelits dies. And I think it does ---but of course as there is a point on the bottom edge as well as the top it wouldn't stand up (lol) so I had to cut it off!!
The paper is Attic Boutique and the image was coloured with markers and the balloons decoupaged. Hope you like it.

Tuesday, 15 May 2012

I started making this card last week with the intention of entering it into two challenges. One at Simply Stamping and a new one called Dynamic Duos. However life got in the way and by the time I'd finished it I'd missed both deadlines!! But I thought I'd show it to you anyway!

The colour combo is Pool Party and Lucky Limeade. The stamp set " Up, up and Away" is from the new summer mini.

Less is More - Week 67 - One Layer

This week the theme for the Less is More challenge is to create a one layer card using 3 stamps.I like doing one layer cards but the 3 stamps proved rather more of a challenge!! Eventually having got lots of possible stamps out I settled on some Little Claire ones. They were the monthly kit stamps back in March I think. So they were all from the same set but were individual stamps - so hope that's OK.

I'm also entering this into the challenge at Little Claire as their theme this month is for a male themed card.
The search for the stamps also made me realise how many I'd got and also how many still had to see an ink pad!!

Flower Cascade

A couple of month's ago the card group I belong to made cascade cards. Unfortunately I was not there on the night and have only just got round to playing with the template. This is what I made.
It was a bit hit and miss as I had no pictures to show me what I was doing! Although it is very 3D it does fold flat for posting - or it would if I hadn't curled the flowers! I used Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder, Concord Crush, Blushing Bride and Pretty in Pink card. The punches were Bird builder, Blossom and Itty Bitty Shapes.

Jubilee/ Olympic Theme

Last week at card group we had been set the theme of maing a card with a Jubilee or Olympic theme.Just in time my copy of Creativity magazine landed on the doorstep with free Portobello Road papers and stamps. Perfect - I had no need to spend hours searching my stash for something suitable. I had already decided to do something with bunting on.
I covered the card base with a piece of the blue paper with crowns on. Then cut out the bunting from the small cover swatched using the SU Petite Pennants builder punch and threaded them on some white bakers twine. The stamp inked in red and blue finished it off.  Hope you like it.

Less is More Challenge Week 66

Well having not done any challenges for quite a while I decided to have a go at this one this week and this is my third card. The first ones can be seen here.  This time I have used all SU products.

I used the new framelits to cut out the image and yellow mat, the Apothecary Art stamp set and dotted scallop ribbon border punch. The colour is Daffodil Delight. The framelits and stamp set are both from the new summer mini. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.
