Dynamic Duos Challenge

The colour combo on the Dynamic Duos challenge this week is Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi. I neede to make a congratulations card for a friend so chose to use it for the challenge. It's a very quick and easy card to make. I used the Everything Eleanor stamp set ( as it was already on my desk!) The small flowers are single layered and the larger one decoupaged to make it stand out. I seem to be short on stamps that say "congratulations" other than very small ones - so used the only other one I've got from the Perfect Punches set. I must remedy this shortfall on my next order!!!

Reason to Smile - again!

This was actually the first card I made with this set for the Less is More challenge but posted yesterdays first as the Dynamic Duos challenge ends first! The colours I used here are Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz. The stamps were coloured  with Stampin' Write markers. The scalloped edge was cut with the Adorning Accents edgelits dies. I really like this sketch and am off to use it for a Christmas card!!

Little Claire's monthly challenge - Summer!

Litle Claire's current challenge is "Summer/Holidays" I have had this set for ages and never used it so it finally got inked up as it seemed perfect for the theme.  Coloured with Promarkers . The paper is from DCWV - again had it for ages!

Dynamic Duos Monochrome challenge

The Dynamic Duos Challenge this week is Monochrome and the colours they have chosen are crumb cake and early expresso. I have used the sketch from the Less is More challenge and the lovely new stamp set from Stampin' Up - Reason to Smile. Hopefully I have managed to put the comment button back as it was apparently missing last week! No idea why though. I'll be back tomorrow with another card made with this set.

Less is More - Sewing!

Well I've finally managed to find time to enter some challenges again! This is my entry for the Less is More challenge which this week is - SEWING! I got this set of Spellbinder dies in a bundle from C & C but was doubtful whether I would ever use them. Perfect for this challenge! The "stitches" are a Hot off the Press stamp set which I have had for ages (and which C & C had on this morning would you believe!!) . Thread is some white Bakers twine which I coloured with an ink pad (a little bit messy to do) and the reel and scissors are from theSpellbinders set. I have to confess though that the scissors are covering a smudge as the twine was not quite dry enough when I added it.  I am quite pleased with the result and now I've used this set I can see me using it again. Ideas are beginning to take shape!!

Dynamic Duos Challenge

Last night was card club but didn't go as I'd broken a tooth and didn't feel very sociable. But I did make the card I'd planned on doing! The theme ar Dynamic Duos this week is to use Black and Poppy Red. For this card I used The Open Sea again and the frameabilities. As I wanted a layer of black between the image and the red I made a faux frameability by drawing round the die used for the image and cutting it out with scissors.

Card and chequeholder

This started as just a card for my brother-in-law but as we were sending him a cheque as well I made a matching cheque holder. The cardstock was Bravo Burgundy and Night of Navy with Whisper White. Although it doesn't show up very well in the picture I used Naturals Ivory for the card blank. The stamp set used was The Open Sea stamped in Night of Navy  for the main image and anchors. The background was stamped with Bravo Burgundy to give a watermark effect. Some linen thread wrapped around finished it off.

50th Birthday card

A friend of my OH is celebrating her 50th birthday big style next month, so had to make a card tomark the occasion!! This is what I came up with. I used gold as it was for "50". The stripey paper and brad on the ribbon is from Stampin' Up available from me HERE. All the elements are cut with Spellbinders and inked with Distress Ink - Antique linen. The cardstock is the neutrals pack from Creative Expressions and the ribbon  is out of my stash and I think was originally on a box of chocs!

Obviously it needed a box. This one is made from SU's Brushed Gold card which has a lovely subtle shimmer for the lid and the base was plain white card. The decoration is again cut from Spellbinders dies.

Little Claire's Challenge

I have had the coloured image for this card on my desk  for over a week. Despite the enormous number of papers I've got I couldn't find one that I liked to go with it so in the end made my own! I was also convinced that this month's challenge was red, white and blue but now I've checked it also says Jubilee/Olympics!! Never mind it's close! The stamp of course was from the Little Claires' Lovely Jubblies collection coloured with copics. The background paper I made with a Creative Expressions stamp (but can't remember what set it is from - it had elements to make flowers).
