Rudolph Day -July

Well here we are again at another Rudolph Day! Fortunately I had a card already made but not blogged. There has been no crafting done during the last few hot and humid days as my craft room is just unbearable! I made this one a while back when I was on a roll with one of the Simon Says Stamp kits.

I really did like this kit and think I might see if I can get some more of the paper and stickers. Of course glitter was added to make sure it was reasonably festive.

Sunday Scrapbooking.

Well I've given you a break for a while from the Australia scrapbook pages, but I decided it was time to show another one.

This the Anzac Memorial at Alice Springs Just look at that gorgeous bue sky! The map was an embellishment in the kit I was given in my secret santa, way back in 2014!

A day out and a Wedding

On Tuesday I had a great day down in Southampton meeting up with Darnell and some other fellow bloggers. What a super time we had - Darnell is as sweet IRL as she is on her blog. I travelled down with Jane from Onions and Paper who had kindly volunteered to drive, the journey took rather longer than we anticipated due to the M3 being closed following an accident, but we did see more of the Hampshire countryside😄

I'm sure you've already seen the group photo on other blogs, but just in case here it is again.

There hasn't been a lot of crafting going on here apart from our invitations for our wedding in October. Fortunately I had finished them before the weather got so hot as my craft room becomes like a sauna!

There were a few prototypes made and discarded before I finally settled on the above design. I used the Floral Phrases stamp set from Stampin' Up! stamped and embossed in silver. The words were from an unbranded set I found on the Internet.

Unusually for me I stamped the envelopes to match. The inserts were created in Craft Artist. I have to say making 10 all the same was quite enough!  I was going to keep it quiet but I let the cat out of the bag on Tuesday!!

Rudolph Day - June

Well Rudolph Day really took me by surprise this month, as I didn't have a card ready. So a quick visit to the craft room resulted in this.

The stamp is from Hobbyart bought at this year' s Make It Show. The fat robins really appealed to me when I saw their samples. The backing paper was a plain green out of a very old Christmas pad, so I stamped on it with a small holly leaf from the set with a brilliance pad to give a bit of shine. The robin us coloured with Copics and some Dazzling Details glitter glue added for the white sparkle.

I'm afraid my blog posts may become even more erratic than they already are over the next few months. We have really got to concentrate on getting Roy's flat emptied and put on the market, and at the same time I need to clear out my garage to make room for the men to install new garage doors. No mean task as it's been used to dump everything in just in case it becomes useful. I do have a few things saved in drafts which I'll post from time to time and I'm sure I'll fit some crafting in, just tokeep me sane!!

I seem to have lost my signature as well, will have to create a new one but meanwhile, a temporary one.

yellow flower

The challenge at Allsorts this week is  "How does you garden grow". I made this card quite a long time ago but have never blogged it and it perfectly fits the theme.

I used the Stampin' Up set Butterfly Basics and coloured the flower with Spectrum Noir pencils.

Black and White for Twofers

I hadn't realised it had been so long since I last blogged. I've not been feeling very creative just lately, partly because when it is hot and sunny my craft room is like an oven! Also the hard drive on my laptop failed so it had to go the PC doctor and I have been reloading stuff ever since. I;m hoping that he might be able to recover some of my files but he didn't seem too hopeful. Fortunately all my photos are on an external hard drive - phew!

A couple of weeks ago I entered the Twofers challenge for the first time, and was delighted to be picked in the top 3 with this card. This challenge has been running now for some time but  they never get very many entries despite the hard work of the girls running it. So please do think of encouraging them by joining in.

This time the theme is black and white and I am dashing in at the last minute with my entry. I had been playing with these new dies from Stampin' Up! with a view to making some wedding invitations(not in black!) but thought they would actually look good in black and white. So a sympathy card was made, I like to have one in my stash as when they they are neede they are usually needed in a hurry.

I'm also popping over to the Playground where Miss Di is back in control, as the black card was two snippets.

Love!

First of all I would like to welcome two new followers, Shawna and Cheryl. Hope you pop back often! I had intended joining in the Allsorts 7th birthday challenge last week but by the time I got round to thinking about making a card! the week was over! This week the challenge is "In the Pink".

I made this using another SSS kit from February. I think this paper is so pretty. I'll probably use it for my son's wedding anniversary later this year - I know his wife is very fond of pink!

Make My Monday - In the Garden

I made this card for a blog friend who has been a bit under the weather recently. Now that she has received it I can post it on here, and it fits in nicely with the theme at Make My Monday, which is In the Garden. There are quite a lot of wild flowers in mine ( otherwise known as weeds!)

I used one of the new Groovi plates from Clarity stamps to emboss the wild flowers on parchment and coloured them on the back with Spectrum Noir pencils. The Groovi plates certainly make parchment craft a lot easier.

Twofers - Animals

I have been meaning to join in with the Twofers challenge ever since it started last year, but life seemed to get in the way. So this is my first entry to it. When I saw the theme was "Animals" I knew it was the perfect opportunity

to use my new set of Crazy Cats stamps.  I have a problem with my cats playing with the wool when I am knitting so thought this was perfect.

Less is More - Pop!

I'm rushing in at the last minute to join in at Less is More this week where the the challenge is "Pop".I originally thought of ballooons but as I was sorting some stamps out I came across this NBUS stamp from Little Claire and thought they could be bottles of champagne or sparkling wine.

I coloured the bottles with Copics and used a L'il Inkers stitched rectangles die to cut it out, then mounted it on to another red pearlescent paper square. The paper was a backing sheet from a Clarity stencil!   The "cheers" stamp is retired SU.
