Woodstock

No cards again today🙁. After making so many scrapbook pages in quick succession, my cardmaking mojo seems to have gone for a walk. Hope it comes back soon as my desk is littered with failed attempts

So here’s another layout from my North America album.

Hope you are all keeping safe and well in these uncertain times.

Lily

Yesterday was a sad day as we lost Lily. Way back in 2014 I adopted two cats, Mum Cleo and daughter Lily. They had been rescued from a shed. Cleo and her litter of seven. Lily was the only female kitten. When I got her she was very, nervous and spent the first few weeks hiding on the top of the cupbards in the utility room.  Over time she settled down but was always nervous of strangers and even of us at times, but was also a bit adventurous and loved being outside.  If the door was shut so that she couldn't get to the cat flap, she would really howl and cry!

We didn't see her at all on Tuesday and normally you could set your watch be her if it was food time, so we were a bit concerned and even more so when there was no sign of her yesterday morning. Then a neighbour phoned to say that Lily was in her carport. We went round thinking she mst be hurt as otherwise she would have run away. Sadly she had died, obviously trying to find her way home. The vet said it was almost certain she had been hit by a car even though there were no obvious injuries, apart from her claws.
She was a real witches cat with a ridiculously long tail which tended to send things flying off the coffe table.
Rest in peace Lily, we miss you.

Quechee Gorge

There's been no cardmaking here for a couple of weeks as I was determined that my North America scrapbook would not take five years like the Australia one did.  I'm delighted to say I have finished it but I still have a few layouts to share with you over the next few weeks.

It's so long since we were actually there that I had to Google the name of this place. All I could remember was that it started with Q! As all the papers I have used were scraps I'm going to share this at the Playground. I haven't been there in quite a while.

August Rudolph Day

It's Rudolph Day aagain over at ScrappyMo's. Only 3 more to go before the big day! Sorry didn't mean to frighten you!

I made this card following a sketch I found recently on another challenge site, but bythe time I'd finished them the challenge was long over. I thought it was a useful sketch for using up some patterned papers, especially these Nordic style ones, which I have found difficult to use as the colours don't seem right to me. A bit dull!

So I made two.

A Sunny New Home

I'm cutting it a bit fine for this month's Twofer challenge, but I've combined it with a new home card for my neighbour's daughter and family. They sold their house just before lockdown and were due to move into a new build, which of course went on hold, so their original 3 week stay with Dad has turned into 6 months. This is the card I have made for them ready for next week when they finally get into their new home.

My second card turned into a get well card for my stash. I did quite a bit of fussy cutting for this one.

The flower petals are actually pale pink although they look white in the photo.

And here they both are together.

The sun, clouds and flowers are from a Simon Says Stamp set and the house is from Stamping Up.

Christmas Kraft

I recently came across the Split 4 Stamping technique and had to give it a try.  You can see a You Tube tutorial here.
I used a Hero Arts stamp set that hadn't seen ink before for the foliage and a variety of Christmas sentiments.

I'll certainly be using the technique again. Im entering this at Cardz for Galz and NBUS challenge.

The ScrapRoom Challenge.

I have just come across a new scrapbook challenge and loved the August sketch, at The Scraproom Blog

I have used it to make another layout for our USA/Canada holiday in 2010. I'm determined that this album will not take as long as my Australia one!

Into the USA

Well we've travelled from Canada to the USA now and are in the pretty town of Bennington. This is the last sketch of the month over at Lasting Memories.

There's been a couple of stops on the way that I've scrapped but not posted yet. I'm keeping them for another day, maybe when I have nothing else to post!

Another Lasting Memories Sketch

The third sketch at Lasting Memories is for two photos. They are quite small so I have made mine a bit bigger as I want the photos to be the focus of the page, not the papers and embellishments.

We had a boat trip on Lake Ontario and this is the view of the city from the lake.

Rudolph Day July

A new card this month instead of an upcycled one for Rudolph Day. I really like this image of a reindeer head, a freebie with a magazine last year.

This time I stamped and heat embossed in gold tp produce a simple one layer card. I was going to add some splatters but decided against it in case I just made a mess! This is also my second  entry at Less is More and I'm also sharing at Stamping Sensations.
