Last Chance for Sale-a- Bration and Trifold Card

Just a quick post to remind you that Sale-a-Bration ends on Monday. So if you would like to get some of these gorgeous papers you need to hurry.  To showcase them for you I made a tri-fold shutter card. This paper is so pretty it needs little extra embellishment, and I have been hoarding it instead of using it!

I added a few flowers stamped with Petite Petals and punched out with the matching punch. The sentiment is also a Sale-a-Bration set,  See Ya Later, which I cut out with the Deco labels framelits. While it was still in the die I drew round it with the fine nib of a marker in Coastal Cabana, then carefully filled in  the edge it left with the brush tip to give the illusion of a very narrow mat. With hindsight I think I should have put the sentiment on the centre panel - I might try and move it.
As the little flowers and sentiment all used snippets I have just managed to sneak this into the Playground at the last minute!

I'm afraid my posts and commenting have been a bit sparse just lately - other things such as work on house and garden are getting in the way. Hope to get back to normal soon.

Card in a Box

Well spring has finally arrived here in the UK. It is so nice to see the sun and spring flowers but it also means I can see all the jobs that need doing round the house and garden as well! Hence my lack of posts. We're doing a fairly major revamp of the garden to get rid of some of the very overgrown bushes, and I've had two large conifers taken out, which means a lot of empty space. I am going to put some more shrubs in but a lot less and more grass instead as it will be easier to manage.

Anyway when I did spend some time in the craft room I succumbed to making a card in a box which seem to be all the rage at the moment. To the extent that Craftwork Cards were selling kits for them on TV the other day.  Mine is not a kit - I made it and it is really quite easy.

I used the pretty Sweet Sorbet papers from Sale-a- Bration and the  co-ordinating stamp set Petal Parade.

The leaves were punched out using the Owl Builder punch. The base card is Calypso Coral and I used Crisp Canteloupe, Pool Party and Pistachio pudding inks. The Happy Birthday  is Label Love with the matching punch.

The Male Room Challenge - Retirement

It was lovely to see so many entries for our Valentine challenge in The Male Room.  This time the theme is retirement and I knew I had the perfect stamp for it. (Non SU I'm afraid!)  However the papers and punches are! I really liked the soft colour of this paper.  A banner with the sentiment threaded on it finished it off.

Recipe:
DSP: Sweet Sorbet (a sale-a-Bration item)
Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Wishes (sentiment), Banner Blast (banners), Non SU image
Misc: Banner Blast punch (a sale-a-Bration item), Modern Label punch, white Bakers Twine

For more inspiration check out my team mates blogs and we look forward to seeing you in The Male Room.
