Joyous Celebrations

I'm afraid I've been neglecting blogging recently due to total upheaval in the house! At fairly short notice I decided to have the decorators in to give the house a make over - well not so much a make over as a freshen up as it's still exactly the same colours. But that meant that I couldn't get near my craft room -  in fact I stayed at a friends and only popped home to make sure work was going OK. Enough of my excuses - here is a card that I made a few weeks ago using the Joyous Celebrations stamp set and holiday frame embossing folder. I also used the new Core'dinations cardstock in Cherry Cobbler which I sanded down to give a distressed feel. The sentiment is from Curly Cute. The card blank was from my stash.

Ingredients:

Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations, Whisper White
Stamp Set: Joyous Celebrations, Curly Cute
Inkpads: Chocolate Chip
Holiday Frame Embossing folder
Stampin' sanding system
Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine
Extra large oval punch

Digitally Sweet Challenge

The challengethis week at Digitally Sweet is to make a card rather than a scrapbook layout. So I have been playing again with Craft Artist. Not sure that I'm entirely happy with this though.

Snowy Trees

I made this card to show that you do not need to have special seasonal stamps to make Christmas cards. Instead I used the Lovely as a Tree set which I really haven't used enough. I stamped the trees in Versamark on Night of Navy card then heat embossed with white embossing powder.layered onto white and more Night of Navy.

Paper Version

Well I said ! might have a go at doing a paper version of digital scrap page in the previous post - and I have.It took ages to find the right colour paper and card in my stash, I knew I had the flowers and ribbons. After a lot of searching found some I liked. The frame was cut out with Spellbinders and the swirls I did on my Cricut.I even had problems printing the photo as my photo printer had not been used for some time, and even after cleaning the printhead the colour was definitely not right. We looked very pink! New ink cartridge installed - and success - we looked the right colour!

Which do you prefer the paper version or the digital one? I can't decide!

Easy Events Christmas

For this card I have used the Easy Events set. I coloured the stamp with the SU markers in gumball green and raspberry ripple. Then added crystal effects to the berries. Mounted on gumball green and raspberry ripple card, finished off with the gumball green stitched satin ribbon.

Holiday Ornament

One of the lovely new Christmas sets in the Autumn/Winter catalogue is the Ornament Keepsakes set which has matching framelits to make the cutting out so easy! Here I have stamped it in the lovely new raspberry ripple ink. It is mounted on a piece of gumball green card (another new colour) which I have torn round the edges, layered onto raspberry ripple card and onto a piece of DSP from the Merry Moments Simply Scrappin' kit, and all mounted onto white. The whole thing finished with a bow made from the new gumball green stitched satin ribbon. The sentiment (which looks crooked in the photo) is from Petite Pairs.
