Diamonds!

It's my turn to host the challenge at Make My Monday and I have chosen Diamonds. I had seen some beautiful watercoloured images of crystals and diamonds, but even after watching numerous tutorials, my attempts left much to be desired.

So I went for an easier option and watercoloured them simply and added some lines with a white gel pen for the facet edges, and gave them a generous covering of Wink of Stella. The splatters were made with a stamp from the SU Gorgeous Gringe set. The diamonds and sentiment are from a Stamplorations set - Sparkly.

Pretty Papers.

It's Thursday and time for the next challenge at Cardz for Galz. The title is Pretty Papers and we want to see 2 or more papers on your card.. Now I have to confess I didn't read the challenge properly and made my card with just one pretty paper. It was only when I came to post it that I realised I should have used two.

Anyway a quick search through the rest of the paper pack and I found a complementary one which I was able to add.

Do try and join in with us and visit the challenge blog for more inspiration and there's also a DT call !

Fun and Games!

Welcome to the new challenge at Cardz for Guyz. Remember we are looking for cards for the men and boys in our life! Just lately we have had quite a few entries that are not following the challenge rules.

This time we would like your cards to depict Fun and Games. Although I make quite a lot of masculine cards most of my stamps for games are football orientated and Iwanted to do something different. After a rummage through some old stash I found some old toppers, which I think must have come with a magazine as I can't imagine they are something I would have bought.

I opted for the dartboard one and found some paper with arrows on that sort of looked like darts! Mounted it all on Cajun Craze card which was a perfect match and added some gold stickles in the corners.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's makes.

Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge

Welcome to the April Christmas Challenge at Happy Little Stampers.

 http://happylittlestampers.blogspot.com/
As always it is Anything Goes with an optional twist.  I have made a one layer card. I always used to find these daunting but I seem to make quite a few these days.

I used a 5 x 7 card blank which is textured and quite thick, in fact so thick that there was no bleed through from the copic pen. The holly garland is from Penny Black, but not sure whether this can be classed as nature or not. The sentiment is from Uniko, stamped and clear embossed. The holly is coloured with a green copic and the berries are Nuvo Crystal drops.

Don't forget to check out all the inspiration from the DT and look forward to seeing your creations. It's never too early to start on those Christmas cards.

I's a new week and a new challenge at Make My Monday. This time Dawn has asked us for "Something Humorous" I have combined it with a card for my son's birthday. He is a keen mountain biker so I trawled the net for a suitable image and eventually found this one(copyright free)

I coloured the biker with copics and added some splats for the mud he throws up!

Be sure to look at the rest of the DTs fab cards and join in the fun!

Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge

It's time for the firat of the Happy Little Stampers Challenges for April. As always it is Anything Goes with an optional twist.

While I was doing some tidying up I found some printed cards for foiling so I dug out my Minc foiling machine which I hadn't used for ages. So it then took me some time to find the instructions and the carrier for it. I used some copper foil, then blended Distress Oxides across the card and sprayed with water to help the colours blend.

Then I used the sameinks and a water brush to colour the image. Here's another phoyo to shoe the shine.

Do check out the rest of the DT's work and hope to see you playing along.

Rudolph Day - March

Well Rudolph Day is here again! This was a very quick card to make as time has been a bit short the last couple of weeks with lots of appointments. Hopefully that will calm down now that Roy has had his cataracts removed. Just need to get his tendonitis sorted !

I made this as I was tidying some stuff away. I had a Simon Says Stamp kit that had been sitting on my floor since it arrived, and the contents were perfect for a quick Christmas card. A card blank, some patterned paper and two stickers - job done!

Pretty Florals

I am really taken with the Concord and 9th Turnabout stamps. This one comes in two parts, so I have just used the outer stamp for this card, for the new Cardz for Galz challenge. We want to see Flora and/or Fauna on your card.

Obviously I chose Flora! I die cut a circle for the sentiment, which is also part of the stamp set. Colours used are Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Blueberry Bushel and Primrose Petals.

There's lots of fabulous inspiration over on the challenge blog, be sure to check it out.

Get inky!

The challenge at Cardz for Guyz is to get messy and make your own background. Now I have to confess that I never seem to get such good results as other people when I play with inks.

For this card, I sprayed a piece of card with TH Distress Resist Spray. When it was dry I blended Oxide inks over it then misted it with some water. The dies were from a recent magazine. The fish bowl and sentiment were cut from some teal card, but the fshes and seaweed were from a scrap of white card and coloured with copics.

I hope you'll be able to join in with us getting messy!

Hand Painted Peacock

One of my card making friends has been doing a lot of painting and at our last card making evening she gave each of us a decoupage sheet as a trial. This is the card I made with the sheet.

I mounted the decoupage on some shimmery gold card cut our with a Crealies die. I would like to enter this into this week’s Allsorts Challenge.
