Rudolph Day - August

It's that time of the month when we make our cards for Rudolph Day  It’s probably a first for me to actually have a card ready in advance and posting on the 25th!

I have gone for a quick and easy card this time. The image is from a pad of LOTV designs - no longer available, which I mounted onto a scalloped circle of Cherry Cobbler card. I found some green ribbon that matched the image and added it to a strip of the red card placed under the image. A small diecut sentiment which was lurking in my bits box finished it off.

Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge

Gosh another month has flown by and Christmas is getting nearer!

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.
IF YOU USE STAMPS BY HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS AND YOU ARE OUR RANDOM WINNER, YOUR PRIZE WILL BE DOUBLED!
I have gone for a CAS look this month, mainly because my craft room was like a sauna! So the less time in there the better.

I cut out an aperture on an A6 card with the MB Peek a Boo die. Then stamped the mistletoe from the HLS Merry Kissmas set in Mossy Meadow ink on the cut out, then added some sequins to the berries. I used one of the sentiments from the same set and added another couple of sequins. I am also entering this into the Rudolph Day challenge which is late as ScrappyMo has been on her hols!

I'm Late, I'm late........

.........for Rudolph Day! Just getting in at the very last minute this month.

I love these fun Santa's, I think they're MFT but I've lost the packet so not sure.  He's colored with Promarkers and cut out with a couple of dies that must have been free with a magazine. Anoter quick and easy card!

Rudolph Day - May

It's Rudolph Day again  and I'm actually entering my card on the day itself! This has to be one of the quickest and easiest cards ever!

I covered a white square card blank with some old Stampin Up paper, cut a fancy edged rectangle from a snippet of Pool Party card, then added the die cut Merry Christmas. I think I've covered up rather too much of the paper so will try tofind something smaller to put in the middle of the next one.

Rudolph Day - April

Well I've finally managed to join in with Rudolph day after a couple of month's absence. We're still in the process of finding homes for everything after the extension. Who knew it would be so hard and take so long! However I've had a couple of days of enforced rest, after having two broken teeth roots extracted. The advice leafllet following the surgery said no lifting, bending, sport or exercise for at least 48 hours!  That had to compensate for the very sore jaw! So I've used the time to make a card.

I used a SU set of dies and stamps I bought last winter and hadn't even unwrapped. The sentiment is from one of the new release stamps at Happy Little Stampers. I'm also entering this into:

Crafting By Designs - Get ready for Christmas
Crafty Creations Challenges - Anything Goes

Rudolph Day - October

I didn't really think I would be able to make a card for this month's Rudolph Day as my craft room is currently a dumping ground for anything and everything. But I am definitely getting card making withdrawal symptoms - so went digital as I have got the laptop.

I know I'm not going to have enough cards made this year as the building work started later and is lasting longer than anticipated. I was reluctantly thinking I would have to buy some cards, but instead I think I will be able to print off some digital ones instead.Just need to make sure I've got enough printer ink!

Rudolph Day and NBUS

Only two more Rudolph Days to go till the Big Day! I wasnt sure if I would be able to get into the craft room to make a card this month as the builders have just knocked through and it is chaotic to say the least! But I managed it and used a NBUS embossing folder so I can also join in with Darnell's NBUS challenge.

I think it will look familiar to some of you - it's a Christmas version of That Folder! A very CAS card which actually looks better IRL!

Rudolph Day- August

Well here we are again at Rudolph Day, only 3 more to go!! I decided to go through my box of bits and pieces,as opposed to snippets, and found some decoupage bits already made up. Time to turn them into cards.
It's a long time since I made a DL card, but it seemed to work quite well with the round decoupage and a gold embossed sentiment.

Then I made up a couple more,so that's three m0re for the box!

July Rudolph Day

Fortunately I made this card for Rudolph Day well in advance. I decided to do some reorganising of the craft room as I'm running out of space, so I have spent the last week unmounting my wooden stamps. It was a bit of a time consuming chore and I had very sore fingers from pulling the fom and labels off, but they really take up so much less space it was worth it. I also re- discovered stamps I had completely forgotten about, so I'm looking forward to using them again.

Anyway oto the card. I used a NBUS die that I bought last Christmas and never used. Red glitter paper to back it and a red embossed sentiment finished it off. Definitely easy peasy.

It will be a good one I think for a bit of batch making.

June Rudolph Day

These Rudolph Days seem to come round faster and faster! Now that the builders have finally started working on the extension I have been going through some of the cupboards to get rid of unwanted/surplus stuff. And there's a lot of it! One of my finds was a Christmas banner I made a couple of years ago with a SU kit. It was looking a bit sad so most of it went in the bin but I did save the rosettes from it and have upcycled them into Christmas cards.

I mounted them onto a piece of white card which was embossed with a Tattered Lace EF which looks a bit like cracked ice, then matched the base cards to the rosettes. I think they'll be hand delivered ones as they are not very post-friendly!

May Rudolph Day.

I suddenly realised that I was nearly out of time to make a card for Rudolph day. So I headed to the carftroom with no idea of what I was going to make. Fortunately I had the Tim Holtz dies waiting to be put away from a DT card I had been making.
The resultwas this! Two die cut trees cut from a snippet of gold card, and an embossed gold sentiment. Definitely QACAS!

April Rudolph Day

I thought I hadn't managed to join in with last month's Rudolph Day (but I had ) so I compensated by making two this month! The first one was really really easy! I had kept a triangular shaped card we received at Christmas and used it as a template. I've got some Kanban card from a Christmas kit bought a long time ago from QVC and thought this might be a good way of using it up. It is just a triangle shape and two score lines with the bottom shaped so it stands. I stamped a greeting and embossed it in gold onto a snippet of green card and added it to the front.

My second card is also using up some old stash. This time it is from a Papermania pad that I thnk was in a goody bag. The paper is actually a pale blue but it was a bit gloomy when I took the photo and the flash has washed out the colour. I added some stickles to his hat and the ribbon is from my stash as well.

I'm going to pop over to the Playground as well as it's a while since I've been there.
Edited to add: Thanks for the hint Carol I'm also entering this at Winter Wonderland.

Rudolph Day - March

I'm just popping in at the very last minute with my Rudolph Day card. I've had it made for a couple of days but just not found the time to blog it.

I used the SU Sparkly Seasons stamp set and dies. When this set came out I wasn't very keen then someone gave me a card using it and I wished I'd bought it. Luckily I just found one on that well known auction site that had never been used. It's just a shame that the die set doesn't include one for the snowglobe base. I mounted it onto a snippet of Christmas paper. The red card and the white I stamped on all came out of the snippets box as well. So a trip to the Playground is called for as well.

Rudolph Day - February glowing candles

Oh my gosh I'm really cutting it fine this month with my Rudolph Day card. The card has actually been made for ages but finding time to blog this last week has been difficult.

The die is Memory Box Glowing Candles cut from red Mirri card and mounted on a white shaped panel. I ran a Versamark pad round the edges and embossed them with sparkly red embossing powder.  The whole image was then added to a piece of stripey vellum which I stuck down under the image, and small amounts of adhesive under the red stripes at the corners.

Rudolph Day - January

Well it's time to start preparing for Christmas! Yes it's the first Rudolph day of 2017. and Scrappymo had some lovely prizes.
I have used a die that was a freebie on a magazine before hristmas and I just never got round to using it. it also came with the embossing folder to frame it. So a card for Rudolph Day, two NBUS items for Darnell's NBUS challenge and black and gold snippets for Miss Di at the Playground.

Winter for Rudolph Day

I started making this card a couple of weeks ago for another challenge, but went down with a streaming cold, so it didn't get finished for a while. Of course by the time I did finish it the challenge was long closed!  But it is perfect for Scrappymo's Rudolph Day.

The stamp is from  Inkylicious, stamped in Island Indigo. Some sponging for the sky and fluffy stuff added for texture. The snow is Nuvo Glossy White crystal drops.

Rudolph Day - September

Well here we are at Rudolph Day again, and I dont want to frighten you but there's only another two before Christmas! For my card I used the faux vellum technique from Inkylicious.

I had seen a few of these in blogland so went to their website to see how to make it and found instructions, but they also sold a kit to make them which just happened to fall into my basket! This was the first one I made and I was really quite pleased with the result.  the second one wasn't quite so succesful, as I tried to make a landscape not quite A5 card with the offcuts. All ws going well till I smudged the white ink, which I couldn't disguise. So at the moment the bauble has been cut out and is waiting for me to be inspired, as to how to use it! I'm also entering this into Make My Monday challenge which is "No Patterned Paper"

Rudolph Day August 2016

I promised to show you how I had used the rejected bits from my LIM card here when Rudolph Day came around. So here it is.

I punched out the individual letters using a postage stamp punch which was just the right size, then mounted them on some gold mirri card. I embossed the card base with the SU Softly Falling embossing folder.

Rudolph Day -July

Well here we are again at another Rudolph Day! Fortunately I had a card already made but not blogged. There has been no crafting done during the last few hot and humid days as my craft room is just unbearable! I made this one a while back when I was on a roll with one of the Simon Says Stamp kits.

I really did like this kit and think I might see if I can get some more of the paper and stickers. Of course glitter was added to make sure it was reasonably festive.
