Twofer Challenge - Leaves!

I fully intended entering Darnell's Twofer challenge right at the begining, but you know what they say about good intentions! Now, some nine months later I have actually made two cards for it!! This month it is all about leaves.

My onefer is similar to one I made a few years ago. I have used one of the first stamps I ever bought, no idea what the make is as I have de-wooden blocked it! I stamped it randomly in red, yellow, green and brown, then added Versamark over the whole panel and clear embossed it, so IRL it is really shiny.I mounted that onto some copper mirri card, then stamped and embossed the sentiment in a matching ink.

My twofer has much less stamping. I heat embossed two leaves in gold and fussy cut them out.

After I hadmounted them ont the mat I decided to add a bit of colour with my sponge daubers, it actually looks quite good but not in the photo. So that's my two cards and here they are both together.

Thoughts of Fall/Autumn

Thoughts of Fall or Autumn is the challenge at Cardz for Galz. I used a NBUS stamp set from SSS called Apple of my Pie!
The apples are coloured with Promarkers and a lot of the blending pen. I was actually going to watercolour them but stamped them with the wrong ink on the wrong card, and as I'd done a lot of masking, decided it was easier to change the colouring medium. I think I need a bit of practice though with the shading. I do hope you'll be able to join in with us, and do check out the rest of the inspiration from the DT.
I’d like to enter this as well into Addicted to CAS - Apples

Something Fishy!

Cardz for Guyz is All at Sea! Not really, that is just the theme for the new challenge, anything to do with the sea. I chose to use fishes in the sea.

The stamp set is from SU- Seaside Shore and coloured with Copics. The seaweed is die cut and left loose at the top. I hope you'll be able to join in the fun!

I have used a SU stamp of Christmas trees which I stamped and embossed in silver, although it looks more grey in the photo. The did some more stamping in DI Bundled Sage, to make it look like more trees in the background.  I stamped the sentiment in red and clear embossed it to make it pop! The edge of the image is finished with silver peeloffs from my very old stash.
I hope you'll be able to join in with us this time.

New York, New York!

When I saw that the new challenge at Make My Monday was New York I knew I had to do a scrapbook page. Although I still haven't finished my Australia album, I am planning to do one to cover our holiday to Canada and the States back in 2010. So at least I have made a start!

The view is from The Top of the Rock and the bottom photo is outside the Rockefeller Centre.

Hope you will be able to join us this time!

Butterfly for Happy Little Stampers

Another month has flown by and it's time for the Watercolour Challenge, the first of the new challenges at Happy Little Stampers. The optional twist this time is Butterflies.

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.
IF YOU USE STAMPS BY HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS AND YOU ARE OUR RANDOM WINNER, YOUR PRIZE WILL BE DOUBLED!
Without more ado here is my card.

Ihad recently got some Tim Holtz Distress Spray, so after watching a couple of tutorials on YouTube I had a play.I started off spraying through a stencil, but must have been a bit heavy handed as I ended up with large blobs! That has been consigned to the pile of " maybe I can fix it later" bits. Then I decided to go for simple - and just sprayed lightly a few times on the card. When it was dry I blended Distress Oxides over it in Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade.A rub over with a baby wipe revealed the spray, which has a slight sparkle to it .The butterfly and sentiment from Butterfly Birthday were stamped in Versafine Onyx Black onto the card. I stamped the butterfly again onto some plain card and coloured it with the same inks. A mat of Cajun Craze and some black Nuvo drops finished it off.

3D Background

We have a new challenge at Cardz for Galz. We would like you to make your own background. So should I do random stamping, use a stencil, brushos etc etc.? In the end I went with none of those, I used a 3D embossing folder, which came in one of the monthly kits I get.I had to dig out my Big Shot to use it as I couldn't get it to go through the Grand Caliber, which is my machine of choice.

I sponged Antique Linen over it and the Cosmic Copper to pick out the pattern.  The dragonfly and sentiment are cut out of copper mirri card.

Pop across to the challenge blog and see what my teamies have come up with.

Bugs!

The new challenge at Cardz for Guy, chosen by Amy is Bugs! Apparently the English and US definitions of bugs are different so we have gone for the US version which gives much more scope! Who knew?
I recently found a new-to-me range of stamps called Your Next Stamp and while browsing the range found these delightful mini bugs which also have matching dies.

I randomly stamped some of the critters on a piece of white card and coloured them with Promarkers. Mounted that onto a green card base, and added the sentiment onto a green strip across the front. Two more bugs were cutout and added to the strip. The wings were WOS'd and Glossy Accents added to the ladybirds' spots. Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's makes.

Rudolph Day - August

It's that time of the month when we make our cards for Rudolph Day  It’s probably a first for me to actually have a card ready in advance and posting on the 25th!

I have gone for a quick and easy card this time. The image is from a pad of LOTV designs - no longer available, which I mounted onto a scalloped circle of Cherry Cobbler card. I found some green ribbon that matched the image and added it to a strip of the red card placed under the image. A small diecut sentiment which was lurking in my bits box finished it off.

Back to School

I know its still a bit early for the children to go back to school in England but that is the new theme at Make My Monday. As I have not got anything suitable in my stash I went searching for a suitable digi stamp and found what I was looking for at Digistamps 4 Joy.

Then I dug out some blackboard card that SU did a while ago, and added some maths with a white chalk marker. I sponged some white ink round the edges so it looked as though the board had been used a few times! The images were coloured with copics. Don't forget  to check out the rest of the DTs makes.
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is also Back to School so I’m joining in there as well.
